Four of EA’s free-to-play PC games will be going offline in 90 days.
EA Executive Vice President Patrick Söderlund broke the news in a post on the company’s site. “Some of our other PC free-to-play games are not as popular as they once were,” Söderlund said, referring to the decision of shutting down Battlefield Heroes, Battlefield Play4Free, Need for Speed World, and FIFA World.
EA currently publishes and supports other free-to-play games, most notably Star Wars: The Old Republic. Söderlund cited the game as an example of a free-to-play success for the publisher.
