The first episode of Telltale Games’ Game of Thrones series, Iron from Ice, will be releasing within the next week.
Telltale announced the news pretty nonchalantly on Twitter without much notice, much like it did recently with its other series. On November 24, Telltale tweeted Tales from the Borderlands’ first episode’s release date, which was November 25. Tales from the Borderlands and Game of Thrones may be releasing close together, but the games are sure to be very different beyond Telltale’s style of point-and-click adventure gameplay.
In any event, Iron from Ice will first be released on December 2 for PC, Mac, and (in North America) PS4. The next day, the game will be available on Xbox One, 360, and (in Europe) PS4. On December 4, the game will hit iOS, and on the 9th, it will be on PS3. Within December, the game will also release for Android devices, which means most of the possible bases will be covered.
Telltale’s take on George R.R. Martin’s fantasy epic will be based in the show’s universe and follow a family only briefly mentioned, the Forresters. The entire six episode series will run parallel to the events portrayed in season 3 and 4, and end as the plot leads into the upcoming season 5.
