In an interview with Digital Spy, Forza Horizon 2 creative director Ralph Fulton explained that the Xbox 360 and Xbox One versions of the game are considered “different games inspired by the same ideas.”
The Xbox 360 version, developed by Sumo Digital, will not be able to handle the weather system and Drivatars that will be present on the Xbox One version, developed by Playground Games.
This really shouldn’t come as a surprise, as a slightly inferior game that is missing features certainly is different than the version with better graphics and more possibilities.
To be fair, Fulton’s claims may come to fruition in a more interesting way, but we’ll have to wait until September 30 to see, when both versions of the game are released.
