The Wii U Zelda hack-and-slash adventure Hyrule Warriors will be making its way to 3DS.
The trailer revealing the port appears to be originally planned for an E3 announcement, but was prematurely leaked. Hyrule Warriors for 3DS will feature two new playable characters, both from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker.
Tetra and the King of Hyrule will be joining the lineup, but this doesn’t mean they’re exclusive to the 3DS port. The video hints that characters will be transferable between Wii U and 3DS.
Hyrule Warriors was made with help of Omega Force and Koei Tecmo, the developer and publisher of Dynasty Warriors, respectively. The result was a crossover game with the same gameplay style of Dynasty Warriors (a musou) and the aesthetic, characters, and plot points of Legend of Zelda.
Invisible Gamer gave the game a B when it released on Wii U. “Hyrule Warriors doesn’t do much to break the Warriors mold, nor does it satisfy on the same level as a proper Zelda game. But it doesn’t have to,” said reviewer Michael Burns.
