Warner Bros. Interactive has announced the newest entry in the Lego Batman series today, Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham. The game takes Batman and Gotham’s various rogues to space, and if the trailer is any indication, Superman is going to be just as annoying as ever.
The game’s official site reads, “Using the power of the Lantern Rings, Brainiac shrinks worlds to add to his twisted collection of miniature cities from across the universe. Now the greatest super heroes and the most cunning villains must unite and journey to different Lantern Worlds to collect the Lantern Rings and stop Brainiac before it’s too late.”
As was the case with the previous game, Lego Batman 3 seems to be, more or less, a Justice League game with Batman as the main character. There are over 150 playable characters in the console games and 105 in the handheld versions. These include “45 missions spanning an original storyline,” similar to the Vita version of Lego Marvel Super Heroes.
Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham will be coming to both generations of platforms, as well as PC, Vita and 3DS. It arrives this fall, perhaps giving credence to the rumor of Arkham Knight being delayed…or they could just be doubling up on Batman for this year.
