BioWare has officially announced Mass Effect: Andromeda will be available in North America on March 21st, 2017, with a European release to follow on March 23rd. The announcement confirms rumors going back to last October, when a retailer listing for the game’s companion art book, also due out March 21st, initially stated the book was launching concurrently with the game.
The first part of a new trilogy set in the developer’s popular sci-fi role playing universe, Mass Effect: Andromeda puts players in the role of Ryder, a Pathfinder tasked with finding a new home for humanity outside of the Milky Way.
According to Aaron Flynn, BioWare’s General Manager:
“We’re telling completely new stories, creating new characters, new planets, new species, and introducing new gameplay systems. And for the first time, we’re bringing Mass Effect to the FrostbiteTM game engine, an incredible engine that’s delivering a tremendous graphical jump from the trilogy to Mass Effect: Andromeda. To deliver on this, we’re taking all the time we can to make sure you’re getting the best possible experience.”
Mass Effect: Andromeda will be available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
