Metal Gear Solid Movie Has Found A Writer

Sony Pictures has hired writer Jay Basu for its film adaptation of Metal Gear Solid.

Basu is perhaps best known for his unproduced screenplay, The Pier. Universal Studios has also recently announced a revamp of their monster movie properties, and Basu will assist in writing.

The movie is being produced by Avi Arad, who has produced Marvel films including X-Men and Fantastic Four and is attached to other upcoming video game adaptations like Uncharted.

Movie adaptations of video games are no walk through the park, especially considering the high expectations held by fans. But Sony is no stranger to filmmaking, and will hopefully do the Metal Gear Solid movie justice.
