Valve announced yesterday that the recently introduced paid mods function will be removed from Steam.
Representatives decided that the mod system didn’t work efficiently enough and that it would be better to take it down entirely.
Valve’s goal was to create a community with access to both paid and free mods, but the company ultimately admitted that it didn’t know what it was doing. It plans on giving refunds to everyone that paid for mods with the system.
It looks like Valve, after a few Steam misfires, will to stick to what it’s got, and prepare for the backlash of the Steam community.
