The Strong has inducted six games into its World Video Game Hall of Fame: Pong, Pac-Man, Tetris, Super Mario Bros., Doom, and World of Warcraft.

The six inductees were selected from a larger group of 15 finalists, which were nominated via user votes on The Strong’s World Video Game Hall of Fame website. The games that didn’t make the cut were Angry Birds, FIFA, The Legend of Zelda, Minecraft, The Oregon Trail, Pokemon, The Sims, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Space Invaders.

The six games were inducted due to having “enjoyed popularity over a sustained period and…exerted influence on the video game industry or on popular culture and society in general,” according to The Strong. They are now on display as part of the Rochester-based museum’s eGameRevolution exhibit.

Nominations for the 2016 class of the Hall of Fame are already being accepted, and will continue to be through March 31, 2016. Inductees will be chosen by journalists, scholars, and critics, just like this year.
