Last night, without prior announcement, a demo for Super Smash Bros. 3DS appeared as a free download on the Japanese eShop. The demo featured classic brawlers Mario, Link and Pikachu as well as newcomers Villager and Mega Man. You could only select Battlefield as a playable level, but you could implement the new Final Destination Form of the stage. The demo let you fight against up to three computer opponents but also included local multiplayer and download play; the latter still remains region locked.

Smash Bros. for 3DS releases in a mere 3 days in Japan, so a demo like this makes sense to increase the hype, but more importantly, does this mean the US might be getting a demo soon, as well? We will keep you up to date with any other information we hear about.
